The shape or the "roof" is a reconciliation of the corrugated steel's mode of bending and the many convex surfaces which combine to form the "pit" of the part. As a roof it covers and opens downward, like raising and lowering my (left) arm. The plaster-covered forms below are constructed surfaces, essentially they make and iterate a place to draw lines (as hair) (here largely not visible). I am a sweaty man and (if faceted forms can read as hair) clear vinyl in drapery reads as that sweat. The vinyl is the same shape and size as the steel element, though more flexible, telegraphing different information.

Sculpture is hot hard work sometimes. There was a lot of hammering and sanding and fast moving in the process parts of this work.
