Cut-offs and leftovers turned out here to be top-heavy man-handlers. Visually this thing sits closer to the ground than it reaches. The painting above, on the otherwise empty part, lifts without raising and is not the "expressive" mark-making of a kind of composing, but rather the residuum of putting this whole thing together. It is a built thing. I love that it can be flat like images, and round as all sides distinct from one another. The faces telegraph to one another in make-up and connection.
It needs help to stand, so I'm not finished building it, and thence the No Title title. It will be weighted even lower and forwarder. I do think it's a gorilla.
